Who We Are:

Genmab is focused on the creation and development of innovative and differentiated antibody products, with the aim of improving the lives of cancer patients.

The Role:

Genmab is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a postdoctoral fellowship aimed at providing Quantitative Systems Pharmacology support for translational sciences applications.  An ideal candidate will have a rigorous grounding in theoretical and mathematical biology, with scientific interest in how theoretical approaches can be used to elucidate drug MoA and guide clinical development.  The candidate will work closely with colleagues in the Translational Sciences group to assimilate data generated from primary tumor-immune assays with complex, multi-omics readouts and refine these assay parameters into a cohesive mechanistic model, analyzing and applying the model to identify key processes and questions that can be targeted by future experiments.  The candidate will also work with experienced modelers in both the early (discovery) and late (clinical development) space to ensure findings are harmonized with other QSP efforts at Genmab.

Responsibilities:

  • Work to identify, conceptualize and execute novel modeling strategies based on program specific questions
  • Work in conjunction with biologists and modeling experts to develop mechanistic models of tumor/immune interactions of interest to Genmab
  • Generate, analyze and interpret complex simulation results to support or inform strategies, including combination approaches, with Genmab products currently in early to late clinical development
  • Provide insight from modeling exercises to colleagues in translational sciences for the purposes of designing new experiments to resolve key knowledge gaps
  • Present scientific findings across departments and with external partners
  • Independently summarize scientific findings for publication in conference posters and peer-reviewed journals

Requirements:

  • Recent PhD in biomedical or chemical engineering, applied mathematics, or related field with experience in mathematical modeling of oncology and/or immunology
  • Experience in the core areas of QSP model development: dynamical systems, parameter estimation, numerical methods for simulation
  • Experience using common modeling and simulation software (e.g. Matlab/SimBiology, R, Julia)
  • A track record of publications and independent contributions to the literature
  • Demonstrable scientific interest in the biology of T cell, B cell, NK and myeloid cell biology in the context of disease
  • Technical proficiency in interpreting complex experiment results (e.g highly multiplexed (20+ color) flow cytometry panels); direct laboratory experience in oncology and/or immunology a strong plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate, both written and oral

Genmab will offer the successful application a challenging position, where the right candidate will have the opportunity to work with highly specialized people across functions in an informal, multicultural environment, with an aim to make a difference in the lives of people with cancer.

At Genmab, we pride ourselves on our unique culture. We are committed to make a positive impact on the lives of cancer patients. We hypothesize and experiment to seek innovative solutions, no matter the employee’s role; we speak up, empower each other, and embrace change and growth; we respect and celebrate our differences while working as one team. Teamwork and respect are central pillars of Genmab’s culture and we therefore ensure an inclusive, open, and supportive professional work environment across our international locations. Genmab employees work with determination, challenge the status quo and cultivate a growth mindset in everything we do.

We are committed to fostering workplace diversity at all levels of the company and we believe it is essential for our continued success.
