Assistant Professor Position in Experimental Quantum Information Science
Department of Physics
New York University Faculty of Arts and Science

The Department of Physics at New York University invites applications for a faculty position in the area of experimental quantum information science. Applications will be considered at the tenure-track Assistant Professor level. We welcome applications from researchers studying solid state quantum information platforms, including but not limited to superconducting devices, spin systems, and defect/vacancy physical systems.

The successful candidate is expected to initiate and lead a vibrant research group, be a strongly interacting member of the newly established Center for Quantum Information Physics within the Physics Department, and contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. The Department values diversity among its faculty and welcomes applications from women, persons with disabilities, protected veterans, and underrepresented minorities. The anticipated start date is Sept 1, 2023 pending administrative and budgetary approval.

Interested candidates should apply online here at https://apply.interfolio.com/112685 with

  1. a curriculum vitae including a list of publications,
  2. a description of current and planned research activities,
  3. a discussion of current and planned teaching and outreach activities,
  4. the names of three references, and
  5. a cover letter applying for the position that includes a diversity statement. Because diversity and inclusion are an important part of the NYU mission, candidates should include a paragraph in their cover letter indicating how diversity and inclusion figure into their past, present, and future teaching, research, and community engagement.
