The Center for Integrative Genomics (CIG) of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) actively promotes careers of junior independent investigators. UNIL is an equal opportunity and family-friendly employer committed to excellence through diversity.

We are seeking to host a new Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Starting Grant Professor and encourage applications from excellent researchers in the life sciences. Please consult eligibility criteria and details for the upcoming call at: https://www.snf.ch/en/w728UqT1Yw256Mz2/funding/snsf-starting-grants-2023.

The CIG currently hosts sixteen research groups, including four principal investigators who are supported either by an SNSF Professorship Grant or a similar starting grant. Research topics span diverse questions in genetics and genomics - from gene regulation to the molecular basis of complex traits – using a wide range of model systems and experimental/analytical methods. More information about the CIG can be found here: https://www.unil.ch/cig.

We encourage prospective applicants to submit their letters of interest by October 15, 2022, containing a CV, a short project description (up to three pages) and the names of three referees. Please send the documents as a single pdf file to Nicole.Vouilloz@unil.ch.

Interviews will be conducted in November 2022 at the CIG or online contingent on the health situation. The CIG faculty will decide shortly after which candidate(s) will be sponsored by the department for application for an SNSF Starting Grant Professorship (submission deadline expected to be early February 2023).

In the case of a successful SNSF Starting Grant application, the CIG commits to offering space, state-of-the-art facilities, access to technical platforms in genomics, proteomics and imaging, necessary animal housing, logistical and administrative support, as well as the opportunity for an additional one year’s salary beyond the five-year funding period of the grant.
