The University of Chicago’s Biological Sciences Division (BSD) and Pritzker School of Medicine seek first-term tenure-track assistant professors from the breadth of biology, medicine, public health and related fields.  We especially welcome applicants

  • whose research spans more than one of our ten existing non-clinical departments (https://biologicalsciences.uchicago.edu/about/basic-science-departments) as well as the Departments of Medicine, Pathology, and Pediatrics, and/or brings new expertise to our Division;
  • who view themselves as part of a community of scientists, intentionally create opportunities for connection and belonging in their professional relationships, and have ideas to change, grow and improve the culture of science and academia;
  • who have experience, skills, and interest in building a community and training next generation scientists;
  • who seek to launch their independent biological/biomedical research careers at a university featuring a top-ranked biological science division located on a small campus footprint alongside outstanding physical sciences, molecular engineering, undergraduate programs, and a leading academic medical center.

In addition to the basic science departments, the BSD comprises thirteen research-intensive clinical departments (https://biologicalsciences.uchicago.edu/about/clinical-departments), and numerous interdisciplinary graduate programs, institutes, and centers. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must have a doctoral degree or equivalent.
