Postdoctoral positions are immediately available to work in the area of immune checkpoint receptor signaling and cancer biology in Dr. Marian Kalocsay's laboratory. The lab focuses on mass spectrometry and receptor signaling pathways involved in tumor initiation, progression, and metastasis. Our approaches range from TMT multiplexed quantitative proteomics, mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, and biochemistry to mouse genetics. We also conduct large-scale proteomic studies screens to explore various cancer-related signal transduction pathways.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The individual is expected to learn independent management and execution of defined research projects in cancer biology. For this, mass spectrometry analysis of biological samples employing tandem mass tag (TMT) analysis with orbitrap instruments (TMT-MS) is required, which involves sample preparation, instrument operation, development of MS workflows, and data analysis. All of these will be learned during the course of studies.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
An individual holding a recent Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate is seeking a temporary appointment, under the supervision of a faculty mentor, involving full-time laboratory-based research or scholarship in preparation for an academic or research career as an independent investigator.
