The Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) and the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) are inviting applications for a position of:

Deputy Physician and Associate Professorin the field of clinical immunology and toxicity of immunotherapiesat the Lausanne Centre for Toxicology in Cancer Immunotherapy attached to the Immunology and Allergy Service of the CHUV (IAL)

With the creation of the Lausanne Immuno-Oncology Toxicity Center (LCIT), built and implemented by the Immunology and allergy Service and the Medical oncology Service, in collaboration with the Immuno-oncology Service and the other services involved in the corresponding management, the CHUV as a whole is equipped with an innovative clinical immunology platform for the benefit of patients undergoing treatment.

A pioneering project in Europe, the LCIT brings together these different parties and their expertise to improve the understanding and resolution of adverse effects induced by immunotherapies. It combines clinical management, research and innovation for people exposed to these new treatments - facilitating their personalized access to the latest medical advances.

Main duties of the position:

  • Supervise clinical immunology and in particular immunotherapy toxicities in immuno-oncology (outpatient consultations, in-house consultations/supervisions, etc.).
  • Ensure and develop the missions of care, the global management of patients presenting the whole spectrum of toxicities of cancer immunotherapies. 
  • Carry out the missions of pre-graduate training (according to FBM needs), post-graduate training, continuous training and to ensure the recognition/accreditation of IAL as a training center A
  • Develop the research missions in the field, according to the strategic axes of the Department of Medicine, while ensuring an independent and competitive research program in collaboration and consultation with the other research projects of the institution.
  • Promote the image of the unit within and outside the institution, to develop collaborations with other services and institutions.   

Desired profile:

  • Federal medical degree required (or Mebeko equivalent)
  • MD or MD-PhD; a PhD in immuno-oncology is an asset
  • Specialization in immunology-allergology (ISFM or Mebeko equivalent)
  • Broad clinical experience in immunology and medical oncology
  • Proven expertise in the treatment of toxicities of cancer immunotherapies
  • Professorial level academic knowledge with proven practice in pre- and post-graduate teaching
  • Ability to initiate and develop clinical research programs that can be supported by expert external funding
  • Good knowledge of French (LM or minimum B2, C1 ideal) or ability to acquire it quickly.
