Harvard Medical School Department of Immunology
The Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek candidates performing creative basic and/or translational research in any area of innate or adaptive immunology.
Our department faculty have diverse backgrounds and interests in understanding basic mechanisms of immunity and their roles in health and disease. Areas of research include autoimmunity and tolerance, cancer immunology, infection and immunity, mucosal immunology, neuroimmunology, and systems immunology.
We offer a supportive and inclusive community. Our vibrant research environment is highly interactive, and we encourage and foster collaboration, entrepreneurship, and innovation. We are committed to the success of our faculty, and we provide engaged mentoring and significant resources, including a highly competitive start-up package, substantial administrative and operational support, and cutting-edge facilities. Our department maintains strong ties to related departments throughout Harvard University, Harvard-affiliated teaching hospitals, and the Boston biomedical community.
We consider it a core mission to educate and facilitate the training of the next generation of immunologists with diverse backgrounds and interests. Our successful candidate will have opportunities to teach and mentor exceptional graduate and medical students, to become a member of the training faculty in the Ph.D. program in Immunology, and to participate in additional, topic-specific Ph.D. programs within the Harvard Integrated Life Sciences (HILS) system.
We are committed to a diverse faculty. We strongly encourage applications from female candidates, underrepresented groups, and anyone who would enhance our research and educational missions.
