Job Details
Dr. Xinwei Cao is seeking a Scientist/Lead Researcher for her lab in the Department of Developmental Neurobiology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Cao lab studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate the development of the vertebrate nervous system, with a special focus on the fundamental mechanisms governing the properties and functions of neural stem/progenitor cells. The Cao lab also investigates the molecular mechanisms and biological relevance of hypertranscription, a poorly understood phenomenon that involves a coordinated increase in the expression of the majority of the transcriptome.

Competitive candidates should have a strong background in developmental biology and molecular biology and experience in molecular, cellular, biochemical, imaging, and/or computational techniques. Recent publication in relevant journals is required.
Responsibilities: Perform rigorous and innovative research using genetically-engineered animal models and relevant in vitro models.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required
Ph.D. Preferred

Scientist
Seven (7) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Bachelor's degree.
Five (5) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Master's degree.
Three (3) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Ph.D.
First-author publication in relevant journals
Lead Researcher
Five (5) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required with a Bachelor's degree.
Two (2) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Master's degree.
No experience is required with a Ph.D degree.
