Assistant Professor

The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) in the College of Biological Sciences at the University of California, Davis invites applications for a 9-month ladder rank tenure-track position in developmental biology at the assistant professor level.
We seek outstanding candidates investigating fundamental questions in modern biology who have excellent potential for interactions/collaborations with existing faculty in the MCB department. We are especially interested in candidates who use state-of-the-art approaches, including molecular genetics and genomics tools as well as innovative imaging modalities, to investigate fundamental questions in developmental biology, including but not limited to cell fate specification, stem cell biology, and models of developmental disorders.
Competitive applicants must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in biological sciences-related fields and have demonstrated outstanding potential and creativity during their doctoral and post-doctoral training. Candidates will be expected to develop a strong and dynamic independent research program. We particularly value faculty that are committed to mentoring and educating undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral scholars from the broadest possible cross-sections of their communities and countries.

Qualified applicants should submit: a Cover Letter, a Curriculum Vitae, a Statement of Research that includes past accomplishments (2 pages) and future research plan (3 pages), a Statement of Teaching Accomplishments, Philosophy, and/or Interests (1-2 pages), a Statement of Contributions to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (1-2 pages), and three letters of reference.
