Summary

The Center for Cell and Gene Therapy is seeking a qualified applicant for a full-time Research Coordinator II position. The Research Coordinator II will be responsible for the data management activities of transplant patients treated at Houston Methodist Hospital. The Research Coordinator II will validate data for accuracy and report patient outcomes to a registry called the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). The Research Coordinator II will be responsible for the collection and timely data submissions of case report forms and will work within a research team of coordinators to ensure target goals are achieved. Following training, there is the possibility of working remotely one day out of the week.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for reviewing and collecting pertinent patient data from the hospital's electronic medical record (EMR/Epic)
  • Maintains databases and detailed spreadsheets to track patients' diseases.
  • Communicates with patients for long term follow-up survival.
  • Completes case report forms within established deadlines and reviews data with manager and physicians.
  • Works with monitors and prepares charts for audit reviews.
  • Enrolls transplant patients into CIBMTR research studies.
  • Maintains records and regulatory documents for research studies.
  • Responsible for the collection and shipping of research samples to the repository and maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Meets the Continuing Performance Improvement (CPI) targets set by the CIBMTR for the submission of data.
  • Orders supplies to support research team and projects.
  • Assists in training new staff.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.
