Are you interested in a highly visible role that allows you to contribute to the success of assets within the Respiratory therapeutic area while building, leading, and managing a team (8 direct reports, MSLs) and partnering with senior leaders at GSK? The Director, Medical Science Liaisons,Respiratoryis accountable for industry leading MSL performance by:

Establishing a culture of empowerment and performance with the MSL teams(s). Leading the performance of the MSL teams by setting business objectives and priorities for external engagement that ensure delivery of the medical engagement plans through execution and reporting key performance indicators and metrics. Supporting the development of the MSL capabilities to coach, lead, and manage their MSL teams to achieve world-class scientific engagement consistent with the Medical Engagement Framework and agreed ways of working. Achieve strategic alignment across the matrix through planning and prioritizing countryresources and activities to deliver value externally with external experts, and internally withmatrix partners to support business objectives.

KeyResponsibilities :

· Drive Organization Performance to Excellence: Drive the Development of High Performing MSLs. Includes hiring, recruiting, ongoing performance and talent assessment and development.

· Partner with Group Heads to understand and execute regional field medical strategy for assigned therapeutic area and geography; provide direction and prioritization to field medical team around customer engagement plans, speaker program support, scientific exchange and collaborative research within the therapeutic area.

· Monitor and measure therapeutic area and customer segment performance metrics and provide direction and timely feedback to MSLs regarding these metrics; monitor and measure direct reports' responses to unsolicited medical information inquiries and identify trends at the individual and team levels through analyzing regular monitoring reports.

· Through coaching and development discussions, ensure MSLs demonstrate the GSK behaviors; In collaboration with direct reports, create and drive execution of MSL development plans that support the USMA employee core competencies.

· Ensure MSL compliance with GSK Code, SOPs and US laws & regulations for all activities, in line with the principles of Scientific Engagement, the promotional code and field medical practice policies

· Provide information and insight to help inform account coverage and prioritization decisions that meet local market needs and align with therapeutic area strategy.

· Ensure direct reports leverage and partner with broader set of medical experts across USMA to deliver “best expert” to payer, EE and health system customers.

· Coordinate and direct launch activities across MSL teams in alignment with TA plans and strategies; ensure team compliance with ways of working; accountable for field team preparation and sign off.

· Establish and maintain robust Matrix Partnerships to ensure strategic alignment, identify local needs and challenges and gather feedback on field medical team performance. Key partners include Sales and Account Management Field Leaders, MI Directors, US SMLs and other internal partners crucial to field-team success.

· Hold teams accountable for executing business processes and plans that have been outlined for therapeutic area or functional teams, including: Scientific Engagement, Scientific Presentations, External Expert (EE) engagement, Account Planning and others as appropriate to meet business objectives and customer needs.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

· PharmD, PhD, or MD

· Resides within East/ Northeast (United States)but will consider candidates outside of the region dependent on experience.

· Fiveyearsexperiencein a medical or applicable R&D role in the pharmaceutical industry or 3 years management experience in similar setting.

· Strong skills in coaching, leading, and management of people

· Experience with e ffective communication skills at all levels of the business.

· Strong business mindset and ability to balance cross-functional objectives.

· Experience collaborating with teams at country, regional, and global levels.

· Leadership experience in a matrix environment with demonstrated excellence in cross-functional working to drive business focused outcomes.

· Effective networking and collaboration skills to achieve business results.

· Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical governance environment.

· Significant operational management experience (i.e. resource, budget, project evaluation)

· Hands-on experience in negotiation and strategic influencing.

· A nalytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

· Experience in working in the required therapeutic area.

· An understanding of clinical development, and statistical design and analysis.
