FACULTY POSITION IN BACTERIAL PATHOGENESIS

The Department of Microbiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) seeks a new faculty member at the Assistant Professor (tenure track) level.  Ideal candidates will develop a front-rank, competitive, and independent research program in the field of bacterial pathogenesis.  At present, research in the department spans a wide range of topics including host-pathogen interactions, prokaryotic sensing, signal transduction, gene regulation, antibiotic resistance, bacterial immunity, mechanisms of co-infection, cellular microbiology, and microbial communities (microbiome). An important academic responsibility will be the instruction and mentoring of graduate students. Candidates should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with at least 3-4 years of postdoctoral experience and an exceptional publication record.
