The ViiV Senior Medical Director, Prevention leads the US medical activities and serves as a scientific/medical expert on cabotegravir and HIV prevention. This individual will be leading the CAB PrEP medical strategic planning in the US by aligning internal and external scientific communications and across a range of external (HCPs including KOLs and speakers, payers, patients) and/or internal (global, medical information, commercial, legal, regulatory, compliance etc.) stakeholders. Specifically, this role is responsible for medical strategic planning in the US and assuring appropriate development of medical information resources, communication plans, training, and research focused on using cabotegravir for prevention in the US. The Sr. Medical Director will have experience with delivering, advocating for, and educating on HIV prevention.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
  • Responsible for leading the implementation and execution of the US CAB PrEP medical strategic plan including but not limited to:
    • Scientific exchange/engagement and oversee development of accurate, balanced, and impactful scientific communications related to cabotegravir and prevention of HIV
    • Collaborate and contribute to the development, review, and/or presentation of the medical content in promotional and non-promotional cabotegravir prevention materials
    • Clinical training of internal stakeholders and speaker's bureau on cabotegravir and PrEP
    • Develop and execute the plan for insights generation and communications
    • Providing medical/scientific advice and support by working collaboratively with internal functions such as commercial, compliance, legal etc.
    • Serve as a resource and collaborate with the broader medical affairs functions including payer, patient affairs, research, and health outcomes to ensure execution of the medical plan and tactics pertinent to HIV prevention


  • Represent the US medical team as the primary contact and resource for the global medical affairs and commercial teams for collaborations and activities related to cabotegravir PrEP
  • Manage the US cabotegravir prevention medical team (likely 1-2 direct reports)

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Doctoral-level degree & 5 plus years of experience with HIV treatment and prevention
  • 2 plus years of medical affairs experience
  • Public health experience with interactions and relationships with US based healthcare providers, agencies, and institutions


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Medical Doctor or PharmD with clinical experience in treatment or prevention of HIV
  • Prior experience managing high performing team(s)
  • Significant and diverse industry experience
