As a cell culture scientist in the Protein Biochemistry Team you will be responsible for the maintenance of critical cell lines and ensure the timely production of DNA and protein reagents. This group plays an essential role supporting the preclinical, development, and life-cycle management of GSK Vaccine projects. We are looking for a highly motivated and hard-working scientist with a proven track record in suspension culture of mammalian

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
  • Work on the bench in the labs (>70%)
  • Manage multiple stakeholders and project priorities in an agile research environment
  • Ensure quality and consistency of research activities to support diverse projects
  • Ensure complete and accurate records of laboratory activities are completed in a timely manner
  • Improve throughput and automation of lab activities by incorporating cutting edge research technologies into multiple experimental workflows .


Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or microbiology
  • 2-5 years work experience
  • Experience in suspension culture of mammalian cells for protein production
  • Basic molecular biology skills (DNA preparation, cloning)


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • 3-5+ years of experience in an industrial research lab
  • Excellent communication skills, good team-player, and ability to effectively collaborate within multiple project workstreams
  • Extensive experience with Expi293, ExpiCHO, and related cell lines
  • Experience with the generation of stable cell lines
  • Experience with lab automation and parallel high-throughput workflows
  • Experience with advanced molecular biology techniques, library generation, and/or cell sorting
  • Knowledge of protein purification, protein design, structural biology, and/or vaccine development would be an asset
