We seek outstanding early career researchers with an interest in strengthening the rapidly expanding focus on Biomedical Systems in science and engineering (uni-stuttgart.de/en/research/profile/biomedical-systems/) at the University of Stuttgart. The positions can be integrated into any of the faculties of the university depending on the background, focus and interest of the respective candidate. Applicants are expected to present exciting and innovative research plans that align with one of the following focus areas: Innovative Sensors and Devices, Biomedical Modeling and Simulation, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Advanced Diagnostics and Data Analytics, Multi-scale Tissue Engineering and Modeling, Molecular Synthetic Biology, Applied Quantum Technology and Imaging.

 

The University of Stuttgart is a leading technical university in Germany providing an internationally renowned multi-disciplinary environment, and is centrally located in one of Europe’s most important high-tech regions. Successful candidates are expected to develop collaborations at the University of Stuttgart and interactions with strategic clinical partners in the region. The professorships will thus contribute to further strengthen the links between science, engineering and clinical research.

 

The professorships are funded in the context of the joint program for the promotion of early career researchers by the German federal and state-governments. The positions are tenure track positions leading to an appointment as a W3 professor in case of a positive evaluation. The position involves mandatory teaching, particularly in study courses offered by the respective faculty. The requirements for employment listed in § 51 Baden-Württemberg University Law apply.
