ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Computational Biologist/Bioinformatics Scientist to join an immunotherapy bioinformatics group. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with biologists and translational oncologists to bring new IO therapies to patients by analyzing and interpreting multi-omics high-throughput data such as single cell and spatial transcriptomics, CRISPR screens, and epigenomics data. The group supports the progression of pre-clinical projects to the translational stage, patient selection and biomarker analysis for translational projects, analysis of clinical molecular profiling data, and subsequent target discovery and prioritization for new pre-clinical projects. The scientist will be responsible for discovering biomarkers and mechanisms of action for IO therapies from pre-clinical and clinical data as well as applying novel approaches such as ML/AI for patient selection, overcoming IO resistance, and discovering new targets.

  • Work within an interdisciplinary team of molecular and computational biologists to integrate, interpret, and mine high-throughput immune phenotyping, genomics, and in vivo response data from clinical and pre-clinical datasets.
    • Implement and/or develop methods and algorithms to integrate and analyze data from various platforms.
    • Analyze and interpret high-throughput data from studies supporting development of novel IO therapies.
    • Analyze and mine public and internal multi-dimensional patient data for indications selection for new IO therapies.
    • Provide timely analysis and interpretation of experiments from preclinical models.
  • Support pre-clinical project progression to clinical trials.
    • Use and develop automated methods to support large-scale bioinformatics analysis.
    • Familiarity with single cell differential gene expression, clustering, pathway analysis, and other data types as required.
    • Internalize and analyze public datasets from data repositories or publications to inform new IO therapy development.
    • Monitor and evaluate analytical aspects of new and emerging computational immune oncology techniques.
    • Develop tools for data sharing and visualization.
  • Present scientific and technical data to both internal and external colleagues in a clear and cohesive manner.
    • Share and communicate all aspects of data analysis, tools, and methods developed.
    • Enable adoption of new methods and tools.
    • Work with teams towards publication of scientific methods and findings by providing documentation of analysis, reproducibility of code, and quality control.
  • Use, develop, and advocate technology platforms for sharing internal data company-wide and enabling user access.
  • The scientist will be responsible for processing, analyzing, and integrating data from diverse sources such as RNA-seq, WES, IHC, single cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, imaging, epigenomics, CRISPR screens, and clinical meta data.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or related fields with 2+ years of post-degree experience or equivalent.
  • Fluency in programming in R, and Perl or Python in UNIX/LUNIX environment.
  • Experience processing and interpreting high-volume genomics data.
  • Experience in immune oncology or immunology research.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in computational methods for analysis of genomics data such as RNA-seq, scRNA-Seq, and Spatial transcriptomics.
  • Experience in integrative omics analysis, next generation sequencing, data mining, pathway analysis, and statistics is desirable.
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting spatial transcriptomics data is desirable.
  • Experience with a cloud computing platform for genomics like seven bridges, AWS, GCP, etc.
  • Experience with application of machine learning / AI techniques to genomics analysis.
  • Strong scientific understanding of molecular biology, immunology, and genomics.
  • Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment
  • Ability to present data to a multidisciplinary audience in a clear and cohesive manner.
