What You Will Achieve

As part of the Molecular Pharmaceutics group, you will be a team member who is relied upon to have a good understanding of procedures, techniques, materials, and equipment. You will follow standard procedures to complete tasks, some of which may vary in scope, sequence, complexity and timing. You will work in the laboratory to support experimental compound characterization and formulation preparation activities for early candidate small molecule substrate. Activities also include routine observational and analytical testing, standard data documentation, laboratory and chemical supply maintenance, and compound/formulation logistics.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Follow detailed instructions to support the preparation and delivery of a variety of formulations for pre-clinical studies conducted on site in La Jolla, CA laboratories
  • Document work in reports and electronic notebooks
  • Conduct routine laboratory analytical experiments according to detailed instruction with supervision
  • Maintain and monitor excipient and vehicle supply and general consumables inventory
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, highly detailed environment, supporting multiple projects simultaneously
  • Support logistics of compound and formulation delivery
  • Manage own time and be accountable for own result
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and orderly
  • Perform all responsibilities in compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards and in accordance with Pfizer standards, guidelines, and values


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience in a laboratory setting
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining a high quality of data
  • Maintains a positive work atmosphere
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and detail oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills


Nice-to-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Prior demonstrated instrumentation experience is preferred

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidates must have the ability to perform laboratory work which may include bending, lifting, sitting & standing for extended periods of time


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Occasional requirements to arrive on site early morning to support pre-study formulation activities
