What You Will Achieve as a Senior Associate Scientist, LCMS Biomarker and Biomeasures Group
Are you a bioanalytical scientist and interested in contributing to transformative mRNA/LNP and gene therapy projects? Join us as a Senior Associate Scientist in the Biomeasures LCMS team in Pfizer Andover, MA. You will be contributing to the development and implementation of tissue based bioanalytical assays that use state-of-the-art targeted proteomic end point detection to quantify transgene protein expression in mRNA/LNP and gene therapy biodistribution studies. This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in sample preparation, automation and bioanalysis of biologicals matrices with emphasis on tissue-based bioanalysis. You will participate in all phases of mass spec laboratory operations including the development of sample preparation methods, assay execution, instrument maintenance and data analysis. How You Will Achieve It
- Responsible for developing tissue based sample preparation techniques to support gene therapy transgene and LNP biodistribution studies using state-of-the-art LCMS technology and other automation.
- As a strong collaborator and based on demonstrated project impact, develop deep partnerships in a matrix environment.
- Participate in technology development and implementation by exploring novel concepts and innovative workflows to expand the group's biomarker bioanalytical capabilities.
- Participate in all phases of mass spectrometry laboratory operations including instrument maintenance, the development of sample preparation and separation methods, data analysis.
- Ensure all tasks and responsibilities are carried out according to scientific and ethical standards e.g. responsible for eWorkbook record keeping; QC and peer review of data and/or reports.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- BS/BA with 3+ years bioanalytical experience, ideally mostly in industry OR a MS degree with 0+ years of experience
- General familiarity with LCMS technology and bioanalytical chemistry quantification assay development.
- Familiarity in operation of LCMS instrumentation and associated data analysis software.
Nice-to-Have
- Expertise in quantitative tissue bioanalysis and extraction of large molecule methodology.
- Experience in the operation and troubleshooting of LCMS instrumentation and associated operating/data analysis software including Skyline, Analyst and Xcalibur.
- Expertise in biological sample preparation techniques (immunoaffinity, tryptic digestion, tissue processing, conjugation, etc) of various biofluids
- Some understanding of protein biochemistry.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, multitasking multiple programs.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

- Lab based position requiring to perform all typical laboratory related activities
- Based in Andover
