What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will join a team of scientists and engineers focused on developing and optimizing mammalian cell culture processes for production of recombinant proteins and biologics for early and late-phase human clinical trials. Your work will be involved in cutting edge technology development projects that seek to probe/understand cellular physiology in the context of biologics production and discover broadly applicable methods to intensify mammalian cell culture processes.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Be a key member of the Cell Line Development team that will support the execution of both technology development and pipeline projects, including vector construction, cell growth studies, clone selection, cell bank preparation and characterization
  • Perform molecular cloning, DNA prep and RNA isolation, analysis of DNA sequence data. Set up and perform PCR and RT-PCR
  • Perform DNA/RNA gel electrophoresis, Southern and Northern Blot, SDS PAGE and Western Blot
  • Support laboratory activities by monitoring lab equipment and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Strong lab citizen and collaborative team player, demonstrating commitment and initiative
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, a documented ability to troubleshoot technical issues, an ability to plan and carry out experiments independently, and to work with complex instrumentation and software
  • Effectively document all lab activities in notebooks/ elsewhere as required and appropriate, in a timely fashion; author technical reports as needed and contribute to internal/ external posters/ publications as appropriate
  • Evaluate data and provide clear reports that can be shared and transferred to and from cross-functional teams; responsible for clear communication in both written and oral forms
  • Collaborate with partners from diverse cross-functional lines to effectively resolve technical issues
  • Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Pay attention to detail, strictly adhere to safety protocols, and use knowledge of basic laboratory procedures to advance projects under rapidly shifting priorities and timelines.
  • The successful applicant will work with and contribute to associated Regulatory filing activities.


Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Bachelor's Degree with 0-3 years of experience in the area of Microbiology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology and/or molecular biology or a related field.
  • Substantial experience with standard molecular biology skills and cell culture techniques
  • Strong background in molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, biochemistry and cell culture techniques
  • Highly self-motivated, efficient in team-collaboration, written and verbal communications


Nice-to-Have
  • Competency in aseptic laboratory technique and the ability to design complex experiments and interpret data.
