The Mayo Clinic Department of BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY is recruiting an innovative scientist at any rank to lead an extramurally funded research program on biochemical, molecular, and cellular mechanisms of health and disease. The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent degree with a research program focused on molecular mechanisms of health and disease. A successful track record or extramural funding, peer-reviewed publications and collaboration that is appropriate for their career stage is also required. Individuals with expertise in functional genomics or genome editing, cell metabolism, multi-omics/systems biology, and/or nano or synthetic biology are especially encouraged to apply. Successful applicants must demonstrate their commitment to a collaborative and inclusive culture.

THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY (BMB) is the largest and oldest science department at Mayo Clinic. It presently includes over 50 scientists and physician scientists committed to the mission of discovering, pioneering, and sharing knowledge of molecular and biochemical mechanisms driving health and disease with strong basic/translational interactions and an emphasis on team science. A wealth of institutional core facilities are available to support the research mission. Our BMB faculty are internationally renowned scientists and innovators who are dedicated to graduate and post-graduate training and lead many discovery science efforts at Mayo Clinic. BMB scientists enjoy internal collaborations and joint appointments with many clinical departments and centers, including the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, Kogod Center on Aging, Center for Biomedical Discovery, Center for Individualized Medicine, and Center for Regenerative Medicine.
