The successful candidate will conduct research with advanced technologies including assays of gene expression and bioinformatics to reduce neurodegeneration. These studies of regulatory interactions, in human samples, rodent models, and culture systems, will identify susceptibility factors involved in CNS dysfunction. The knowledge gained will advance work to improve the outcome of Veterans, and others, with a variety of conditions such as Gulf War Illness, traumatic brain injuries, Alzheimer's disease, or ALS.

 

The applicant must have a recent doctorate and experience with molecular biology and tissue culture. Research work with mice would be beneficial.
