Job Details

The James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona is seeking a candidate for the position of a research scientist with a strong theoretical background in quantum optics and quantum information theory. Desirable skills and background include: knowledge of quantum Shannon theory, phase space description of non-classical states of light, non-Gaussianity and entanglement measures, and an overall strong background in standard principles from electrical engineering such as linear systems theory, stochastic processes, and basic control theory principles. The candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Saikat Guha, at the University of Arizona, along with a team of graduate students and postdocs with theoretical and experimental backgrounds, in topics surrounding continuous variable quantum information processing, with applications to quantum communications, entanglement-assisted sensing and optical quantum computing in scalable platforms. Applicants should have demonstrated scientific and technical experience in some of the aforementioned areas.

Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans; life insurance and disability programs; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; state and optional retirement plans; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!
