Rising Stars Symposium
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis invites senior graduate students to apply for our honorable Rising Stars Symposium that will be held in Fall 2022. This competitive, two-day event at Washington University School of Medicine allows outstanding senior graduate students working in biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology, mass spectrometry or related areas to present their work with this honorable award. In addition to providing opportunities for trainees to share their work and expand their professional network, a major goal of the symposium is to facilitate meetings with recruiting faculty members (https://biochem.wustl.edu/misc/risingstars/faculty) who may be good fits for postdoctoral work. All expenses will be paid for students from US and Canada (international students living overseas will join remotely).
Eligibility:
Applicants are expected to have solid research background and publications, and plan to graduate within a year (or half year after) of the symposium. We especially encourage applications from underrepresented trainees.
Application Process:
We invite students to apply by sending a CV and short answers to the following questions:
(1) What are your past research experience and future career goals?
(2) What areas of biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology interest you?
(3) Which faculty members would you like to meet with during your visit?
Applications should be sent as one pdf file to risingstarsprogram@biochem.wustl.edu by September 1, 2022 for consideration. Priority will be given to early applications.
For specific inquiries regarding eligibility or selection, please contact the same email. Updated information about the symposium can be found at https://biochem.wustl.edu/misc/risingstars.
