Summary

The Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, is looking for a Research Coordinator II to manage the day to day operations of multiple research projects for the Texas Hepatocellular Carcinoma Consortium (THCCC) Project. The ideal candidate will manage patient screening, consenting patients, recruitment and enrollment, administering patient questionnaires, conducting chart reviews of electronic medical records and data entry. Duties will also include conducting patient surveys, blood processing, storage and shipping, as well as monitoring of research participants.

Job Duties

  • Interviews / administers surveys, screens, and recruit patients for multiple ongoing research trials: explains process and procedures to educate the participant regarding research study.
  • Corresponds with patient throughout the study
  • Collects, processes, ships, and maintains paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol.
  • Assists with daily administrative tasks like preparing study materials, photocopying, organizing and filing documents, mailing study materials, working with confidential files.
  • Provides detailed patient information for study, including scheduling for follow-ups
  • Orders / organizes laboratory research supplies and equipment
  • Enters research data into electronic data capture systems and ensures accuracy of data entry.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to multi-task is critical to this role
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Must be open to learning how to use new types of computer software (including online research databases, EPIC, etc.)
