SR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHER

THE POSITION

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join the Antibody Discovery group within the Department of Antibody Engineering at Genentech as a Senior Scientific Researcher. This new hire will work with cross-functional teams and focus on high-throughput characterization of binding properties and engineering of antibody drug leads in projects spanning a range of therapeutic areas and modalities in Genentech’s pipeline. The candidate will work independently and collaboratively to achieve discovery and technology development goals. Significant part of the efforts will involve application and advancement of standard and single cell deep sequencing technologies to antibody discovery and engineering. In addition, the candidate will work in close collaboration with our machine learning groups establishing cutting edge in silicon discovery technologies.

Who You Are

The successful candidate will have:

• PhD in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related discipline; or
• BS/MS degree in above disciplines with 5+ years of research experience in protein biochemistry, protein or antibody engineering or related discipline
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• The ability to work independently and collaborate within teams
• Demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and independently solve problems and a record of substantive scientific contributions
• Computer skills, including large dataset analysis and basic scripting

​Prior experience in antibody discovery and engineering, deep sequencing data analysis and surface plasmon resonance are highly desirable but not essential. Self-driven candidates with a passion for technology innovation in biotechnology and drug development are encouraged to apply.
