Postdoctoral position that is supported by a newly funded NIH grant and other funding. The appointee will be supervised by the principal investigator. The project is in the area of intercellular communication, signal transduction, cancer, and inflammation. We are investigating how fundamental aspects of cell and molecular biology control tumor progression. This work involves basic and translation science including analysis of the effects of a novel therapeutic approach on cancer patients in an ongoing FDA approved clinical trial.
The appointee is expected to perform independent research, analyze and interpret results, and communicate results in oral and poster presentations at appropriate scientific meetings. The appointed postdoc will be encouraged to publish and develop their own research ideas in the context of our ongoing project. The appointed postdoc will be mentored in a variety of areas including tissue and cell growth, gene (RNA Seq) and protein (general and phosphoproteomic MS) expression analysis.
The appointee will join an interactive environment affiliated with Rowan University’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The position is located in Stratford, NJ- a suburban south New Jersey community with an easy commute by train or car to Center City Philadelphia. The campus contains state of the art facilities and instrumentation. In addition, teaching opportunities are available (if desired) along with Career Development and other mentoring.
Applicants with diverse scientific backgrounds are encouraged to apply. A PhD or equivalent is required in any of the following: Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Biophysics, Chemical Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or a related field. The candidate should have a strong publication record and provide references. Candidate should have experience with traditional biochemistry and cell biology techniques. Experience in cancer cell biology and clinical investigation is also preferred.
This is a Full-Time, Temporary Grant Funded position.
