The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine announces a search for an open rank Faculty member. This position is intended to further expand ongoing basic, translational and clinical research activity in lung diseases. 

We are seeking a mid-career scientist or physician-scientist with a track record of substantial extramural funding including NIH or NIH-equivalent funding. The ideal candidate would be a Ph.D. trained basic scientist or an M.D, Ph.D. or M.D. clinician investigator with an established basic or translational research portfolio.

The ideal candidate will also have a strong desire, and preferably demonstrated success, in mentoring fellows and young faculty. Candidates with research expertise in genomics and transcriptomics, systems biology, and the lung microbiome are highly encouraged to apply for this position.

Research space for this faculty appointment will be provided within the division’s Thoracic Diseases Research Unit which houses basic wet lab space for several faculty within the division.  Candidates with a research program and interests directly and innovatively impacting the field of airway mucosal biology, airway inflammation and/or pathophysiology of airway disease, particularly within the context of asthma, bronchiolitis and/or COPD, and with a translational focus towards application of immunotherapeutic or regenerative approaches will be particularly competitive for this position.
