FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Successful candidates will be expected to establish and/or sustain active, independent programs of extramurally funded research in experimental microbiology with an emphasis on the microbiome that interfaces with bioinformatics approaches to build on existing strengths in the department. Teaching in these areas at the undergraduate and graduate levels is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a senior scientist, Professor/Associate Professor, with a strong record of research and external funding or an entry-level scientist of exceptional promise for appointment at the Assistant Professor level. The candidate must have a demonstrated commitment to experimental research, bioinformatic analysis and teaching. A Ph.D. in Microbiology or microbiology-related discipline, postdoctoral training, and publications in peer-reviewed journals are required for all entry levels. Teaching experience and a record of extramural funding and team management experience are required above the Assistant Professor level.
