Job Duties
- Evaluates, processes, and analyzes high throughput datasets, including RNA, ChIP, WGBS, GWAS, eQTL, proteomics, single-cell data, etc to both well-defined and moderately complex problems.
- Develops algorithms, optimize and maintain analysis pipelines for reproducible analyses.
- Researches, employs, and customize state-of-the-air bioinformatics tools.
- Prepares reports and meet with collaborators to present the analytical methods or findings.
- Works closely with other computational and bench scientists, provide guidance to lower level analyst/programmer when necessary.
- Assists with drafting and completing manuscripts for publication and grand proposals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Biological Science, or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
- Experience with bioinformatics algorithms, analytical pipelines and large-scale data analysis.
- Demonstrated a good publication record in scholarly journals.
- Good understanding of statistics, machine learning. Deep learning experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in scientific programming with R, Python, Perl or equivalents.
- Competence with UNIX environment. Experience with HPC/AWS is a plus.
- Strong communication and scientific reporting skills (verbal, written, and graphical).
- Experience in deep learning algorithms, natural language processing, large-scale multi-modal data.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with explicit attention to details.
- Creative, open-minded, critical reasoning, and passionate about scientific research.
- Effectively collaborative and motivated by challenges.
