The UCL Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology (LMCB, http:/www.ucl.ac.uk/lmcb) is an internationally renowned, multidisciplinary, molecular and cell biology institute, located in the heart of UCL’s London Bloomsbury Campus. LMCB scientists explore the dynamic control of cells and tissues during development, homeostasis, regeneration and disease using a range of model organisms and state-of-the-art molecular and imaging technologies. Current research themes include cell signalling and decision making, tissue architecture, tissue homeostasis and regeneration, RNA biology and the physics of living systems.

We are inviting expressions of interest from early career researchers who wish to be sponsored for career development fellowships to establish independent research groups at the LMCB. This is an excellent opportunity to launch an innovative research programme as junior tenure-track group leaders at a vibrant research institute, with excellent in-house research facilities, administrative support, a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with cross-faculty and clinical links across UCL and beyond.

We are looking for outstanding candidates who will address fundamental questions in tissue biology using innovative approaches and technologies and will synergise with our existing research interests. Applicants should hold a PhD, have an excellent track record and show exceptional potential for independent research and competitive fellowship applications. Shortlisted candidates will receive support for fellowship applications. Candidates that are successful in securing a fellowship will join the LMCB community as a junior tenure-track group leader, with full access to all LMCB facilities, leadership training programmes and UCL’s numerous Master’s and PhD Programmes, and receive bespoke mentoring and support. This is a rolling application process which will continue until our positions are filled.

Please send a cover letter and your CV with a brief (2-page) outline of your future research plans to Jazz Dinza at j.dinza@ucl.ac.uk or use the submission section below. Informal enquiries may be directed to any of the LMCB’s group leaders or the Director, Professor Alison Lloyd. The initial closing date is 10 September, 2022.
