Summary
Staff Scientist position available in the Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine. We develop methods and tools for the analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of proteomics and multi-omics data. We also participate in several large collaborative projects that generate multidimensional omics data at DNA, mRNA, protein, and clinical phenotype levels from human tumors, patient-derived xenografts (PDXs), and cancer cell lines. The Staff Scientist will participate in both method and tool development and biological applications, and will integrate omics data analysis into precision oncology discovery and practice.

Job Duties
- Hypothesis development and experiment design
- Management of clinical samples
- Proteomics technique development and application of proteomics techniques to preclinical and clinical samples
- Mass spectrometry maintenance
- Perform bench work using molecular biology techniques and generating proteomics data
- Collaborate with clinicians and bioinformaticians to generate genomic and proteomic data
- Participate in data processing, analysis, and discussion for manuscript and grant preparation
- Mentor graduate students & postdocs
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Three years of post doctoral research experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computer science, biostatistics, mathematics, cancer biology, or a related field
- Must be a team player and work well within a group
- Experience with mass spectrometry
