Postdoctoral Associate- CAR-T Cells

Summary

A Postdoctoral position available at the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy for motivated and skillful applicants interested in translational immunology and engineered cell therapies of cancer. The main project involves developing and optimizing for clinical translation a new therapeutic strategy for pediatric malignancies using T-cells armed with chimeric receptors. The candidate will develop new models to test new engineered cell therapies for currently incurable pediatric cancers, lead preclinical IND-enabling studies and shepherd the lead candidate through GMP translation and a Phase I clinical trial.

Job Duties

• Designs chimeric constructs and evaluates their function in primary human T-cells using in vitro assays.
• Evaluates anti-tumor activity of selected T-cells in mouse models of human malignancies.
• Establishes patient-derived xenograft models of pediatric malignancies for preclinical testing of next-generation products.
• Analyzes literature and develops new hypotheses to test in pilot experiments.
• Assists with writing reports and manuscripts and present at scientific meetings.
• Maintains a timely log of experimental notes.

Minimum Qualifications

• MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
• No experience required.
