Summary
One postdoctoral position is available in the Zong lab in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. The researcher is expected to learn and perform single-cell sequencing experiments to characterize the transcriptome of individual neurons and synapses in both human samples and mouse models with neurodegeneration.
The researcher will have the opportunity of participating in various single-cell assay developments and applying the advanced assays including high-throughput single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq and WGS to neuroscience research.
Candidates with neuroscience and next-gen sequencing experience are preferred.

Job Duties
- Develops mice model, single cell sequencing and the in vitro and ex vivo based experiments.
- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- May establish new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
- May be responsible for laboratory operations.
- May supervise research staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in biology.
- Cancer biology and single-cell sequencing experience.
