Role Summary

BioMedicine Design of Pfizer Inc. is seeking a highly motivated scientist for antibody display library generation and antibody discovery in La Jolla, CA. In this vital role, you will directly contribute towards our efforts for biologic therapeutic discovery and optimization. You will have access to state-of-the-art antibody discovery and optimization technologies and advanced automation equipment. Your ability to plan will help in preparing short-term work activities on projects. Your creativity in developing novel processes and new ideas will be used frequently. It is your innovative scientific temperament that will help in making Pfizer ready to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe.

Role Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Perform library construction, panning and screening to identify desirable molecules against diverse targets
  • Perform NGS amplicon preparation and coordinate with NGS related experiments
  • Trouble-shoot and optimize protocols and propose creative solutions to improve efficiency to existing processes.
  • Interpret and summarize experimental data. Participate in the evaluation of new methods or technologies.
  • Maintain detailed records of all experiments in ELN and using in-house databases and tracking systems in a detailed and descriptive manner.
  • Purchasing and management of consumable stocks, as necessary for the workflow.


Qualifications
  • MS in biological sciences with over 2 years experience in an academic or industrial setting.
  • BS in Biological Sciences with over 6 years of experience in an academic or industrial setting
  • Knowledge in antibody library generation is essential.
  • Experience with antibody library technology including hands-on-skills in the performance of library generation, antibody screening and amplicon preparation for NGS.
  • Extensive experience with multiple antibody screening assays and analysis, such as ELISA and FACS. Experience with cell sorting, liquid handling, and automation is desired.
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques e.g. primer design, PCR, site directed mutagenesis, antibody reformatting.
  • Good organizational skills, with scientific rigor and critical thinking.
  • Effective resource and time management is essential.
