The mission of GSK's clinical imaging group to apply, seek, and develop impactful imaging biomarkers for informed clinical decision making. Here, we are responsible for enabling exploratory and multicenter imaging studies, where specialized radiological techniques are developed and implemented as registrational endpoints or enabling biomarkers. Clinical Imaging is part of Clinical Pharmacology Experimental Medicine, the latter of which is comprised of four integrated groups of physicians and scientists who deliver optimized translational opportunities for assets through the Discovery Medicine; Clinical Biomarkers; Clinical Pharmacology, Modeling and Simulation; and Clinical Imaging functions. Clinical Imaging delivers and enables radiological imaging within GSK's clinical trials across therapeutic areas and all phases of development for the current pipeline, while anticipating and developing imaging solutions for future R&D and Clinical Development needs. Current and future delivery is achieved through a balanced external model, working alongside external consultants, academic institutions, and CROs to meet the varied needs of GSK.

The Director of Immunology and Specialty Imaging within Clinical Imaging role is accountable for leading a newly formed team of experts to provide imaging endpoints for experimental medicine through post-approval studies in a range of therapeutic indications outside of Oncology and Neuroscience. Further, this role will be responsible for identifying and developing new imaging biomarkers through external and internal collaborations, incorporating existing imaging biomarkers on studies, evaluating the external landscape for utilization on GSK studies. This role will lead and develop a group of individuals covering all necessary imaging modalities for the Immunology, Hepatic, GI, Respiratory, Dermatology and Renal portfolios, contribute to the identification and execution of these studies, and strategically build relationships within these therapeutic areas to ensure a robust Clinical Imaging portfolio of imaging endpoints to enable decision-making within GSK. While the remit of this role and team will be broad, not all therapeutic areas are necessarily represented simultaneously and this presents as an opportunity for someone looking to broaden their imaging experience, drive new capabilities, and identify new applications.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…
  • Facilitate selection of optimal imaging endpoints for GSK studies, and application and delivery in multicenter studies for applications outside of Neuroscience and Oncology
  • Lead and deliver imaging endpoints from Ph1 to Ph3 assets across Immunology, Hepatology, GI, Renal, Dermatology and Respiratory indications
  • Lead a team of imaging experts to deliver Ph1 to Ph3 endpoints, and ensure their professional development
  • Train and/or mentor direct reports in early- to late-stage delivery of imaging studies, as needed, and ensure emerging capabilities match GSK program needs in designated area
  • Assist with developing a Clinical Imaging strategy for addressing GSK's emerging disease areas of interest, and adjust strategy according to pipeline changes.
  • Assess the external landscape for current and emerging imaging endpoints to support emerging disease areas of interest
  • Ensure visibility of key clinical development programs and encourage early engagement with Clinical Imaging
  • Collaborate with other Directors within Clinical Imaging to:
    • Identify department gaps, needs, solutions and paths forward
    • Provide fit-for-purpose imaging solutions across the pipeline
