The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a materials research Organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry. We perform research and testing in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry to improve the safety of products and processes. At BAM we do research that matters. Your responsibilities include:

Further development of laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) for biomedical samples within the framework of the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1340 "Matrix in Vision"

  • Flanning and conducting of LA-ICP-MS measurements in coordination with the project partners
  • Development and application of methods for the detection of biomolecules using element-tagged antibodies
  • Summary of the results in scientific reports and publications and presentation at Conferences
  • Supervision of bachelor's and master's theses and PhD students

Your qualifications:

  • University degree (diploma/ master's degree) in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry or comparable, doctorate is an advantage
  • Basic analytical knowledge, especially in trace element analysis
  • Experience with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS)
  • Experience with laser ablation ICP-MS is an advantage
  • Experience in the detection of biomolecules using antibodies is an advantage
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Experience in the presentation and publication of research results
  • Good communication and information behaviour, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative/commitment, ability to work in a team, willingness to learn
