Prof. Jeffrey Jensen, the School of Life Sciences, and the Center for Evolution & Medicine (CEM) at Arizona State University (ASU) invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to pursue projects related to computational population genomics.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in evolutionary/population genetics, comparative genomics, bioinformatics, statistics, or related areas. Applicants may not have had more than five years of previous postdoctoral experience, nor have been employed previously as an assistant professor, associate professor or professor on the tenure track. Nominees who are non-US citizens are encouraged to apply, and will need to be eligible for a J-1 Scholar visa status for the duration of the Fellowship. CEM does not support H1B visa status.

Candidates with cross-training and experience in population genetics are desirable. Candidates with experience in theoretical and analytical approaches are preferred. The successful candidates will have an interest in evolutionary analysis, outstanding organizational and writing skills, a demonstrated capacity for independence and innovation, as well as the ability to work as part of a team.

The initial appointment is made on a fiscal year (12-month), full-time, appointment for one year with subsequent annual renewal based upon satisfactory performance and availability of resources. This position is a benefits-eligible appointment with no tenure implications. The anticipated start date is January 2023 but is flexible. This position comes with a competitive salary, health insurance coverage and includes $2,000 for travel/research. Candidates must be within five years from receipt of their doctoral degree.
