The Department of Cellular Biology and Anatomy at the LSU Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Shreveport (https://www.lsuhs.edu ) is seeking candidates holding a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree for tenure-track positions at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. To be considered, candidates should have expertise in the Anatomical Sciences and Cellular Biology. Candidates having an established research direction/expertise in Cardiovascular Disease and related areas (e.g. stroke), Neurosciences, or Cancer are particularly encouraged to apply.
These new positions are part of our continued growth of our departmental programs. Successful applicants will participate in team-based teaching in our Medical, Graduate, and Allied Health Anatomical Sciences Curricula. Applicants having experience in the Anatomical Sciences (Gross Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Histology) and Cellular Biology will be given priority consideration. The requirements for Assistant Professor include a minimum of two years of postdoctoral research experience. For the Associate Professor rank a minimum of five years of experience at the level of Assistant Professor. Applicants for the rank of Associate and Full Professor are expected to have a record of scholarly and research productivity during their career. Salary and start-up packages will be commensurate with experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for the appropriate candidate to play a significant role in the future growth of the Department and its research programs. In addition, there are numerous opportunities for the development of collaborative research projects with faculty members in our multidisciplinary Center for Cardiovascular Disease and Sciences, Cancer Center, and Center for Brain Health here at LSUHSC.
