Position Summary

The Medical Center is looking for a talented Research Associate I to join Dr. Behnam Badie's team. Dr. Badie's laboratory is exploring CAR T based, more effective and less toxic therapies to treat a deadly disease, Glioblastoma, which is aligned with one of COH's strategic priority initiatives, CAR T Program Expansion.

This position will be responsible for executing technical and laboratory activities with the ability to execute Western, qPCR, ELISA and flow cytometry experiments and capacity to work in a mouse colony performing basic tumor biology research. The candidate should be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently and as a part of a team on research grade projects. Strong organizational skills are required, attentiveness to details, multi-tasking and ability to communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Create and modify lab protocols
  • Conduct tissue culture, including characterization and development of murine and human cell lines
  • Execute immunoassays, including ELISA and western blot
  • Conduct in vivo mouse surgeries and manage mouse colonies


Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences or related scientific discipline
  • 0-2 years of laboratory experience including design and execution of related experiments

Preferred education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Masters degree in Biological Sciences or related scientific discipline with 0-2 years of laboratory experience
