The Center for Cancer Cell Biology, Immunology and Infection of the Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position.  We are seeking a candidate who conducts active research in the area of computational biology and bioinformatics in the area of microbiology, immunology, cancer, neuroscience, genetic diseases, psychiatric disorders, cardiovascular diseases, or proteomics. Ample opportunity exists for collaboration with the scientists at the Center and other eight research centers and institutes on campus (https://www.rosalindfranklin.edu/research/researchers/).

Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is a graduate-level health sciences university situated on an 85-acre campus in North Chicago, near Lake Michigan.  As one of six medical schools in the Chicagoland area, there are ample opportunities for collaboration with other scientists in the region.

The Medical School has recently reorganized its researchers into six Centers, which occupy a new 100,000 sq. ft. building aka Innovation and Research Park since September 2019. The research strengths at the Medical School include T cell immunology, HIV infection of the central nervous system, substance abuse disorders, neuroscience, inherited rare diseases, structural biology, and regenerative medicine. The Medical School has just initiated a new hiring phase, anticipated to include up to 10 tenure track positions over the next five years.  This position will be academically affiliated with the Discipline of Microbiology and Immunology located on the second floor of the Basic Science Building. As a Medical School faculty member, the position will involve teaching and service activities, in addition to research.

Applicants must have a terminal degree (e.g., PhD or ScD) in a relevant field, and at least three-year relevant experience applying computational approaches to multi-dimensional multi-omics datasets (transcriptomics, genomics, and proteomics) to derive insights and hypotheses about biological and disease pathways and processes.
