ASSOCIATE RESEARCH SCIENTIST

 

 

The Department of Anesthesiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, seeks an Associate Research Scientist in the laboratory of Paul Garcia, MD, PhD. Candidates should have strong scientific and postdoctoral experience. Responsibilities will include running a vibrant and independent research program; performing independent research; helping with and supervising the analysis of ongoing projects; and training and mentoring graduate students, medical students, undergraduate students, resident physicians, postdocs, and technicians. The candidate will be an active participant in all departmental research activities and will participate in grant proposal development and manuscript publishing.

 

Applicants must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree, and at least three years of postdoctoral research experience. Applicants must also be capable of conducting research independently with minimum oversight. The University offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. This position falls under a collective bargaining agreement.
