Postdoctoral research positions are available to work on mutant p53.
We seek talented applicants with a recent PhD or MD/PhD with experience in Cancer Biology/Biochemistry/Molecular Biology.
The research involves studies on innovative targeting of dominant oncogenic mutant p53 for therapeutic benefit as well as the mechanism of gain of oncogenic function by mutant p53 (see “The oncogenicity of tumor-derived mutant p53 is enhanced by the recruitment of PLK3. Vaughan CA, Singh S, Subler MA, Windle JJ, Inoue K, Fry EA, Pillappa R, Grossman SR, Windle B, Andrew Yeudall W, Deb SP, Deb S. Nat Commun. 2021 12:20928-8 PMID: 33514736). These positions provide excellent mentoring and training opportunities.
The project requires techniques involving DNA cloning, immunostaining, CRISPR/Cas9 related technologies and viruses along with generation of novel mouse knock-in/out models, and mouse and human tumor studies. Candidates with experiences in these techniques will be preferred.
