The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the Weill Cornell Medical College is establishing a research program in head and neck tissue regeneration and repair in conjunction with the Ansary Stem Cell Institute and Division of Regenerative Medicine, under the mentorship of Professor Shahin Rafii. We are seeking a candidate to address key issues in the molecular and cellular biology of orofacial tissue, aerodigestive epithelium or special senses regeneration, with a focus on translational applications. The successful candidate will have research training and interest in areas including but not limited to molecular biology (preferred), immunology, genetics, epigenetics/epigenomics, biomaterials, and/or tissue engineering as they apply to the broader field of regenerative medicine. Research faculty are expected to develop an extramurally funded research program and to collaborate with the robust and comprehensive clinical program, and with existing regenerative medicine initiatives at Weill Cornell.
Candidates should hold the PhD and have a demonstrated record of relevant research accomplishments as evidenced by their training, publications and peer review funding. The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues within the College and at other universities and research institutions is essential.
Applicants should submit curriculum vitae and any other information that reflects professional competence. In addition, applicants should request three letters of reference from individuals who can provide a critical evaluation of the candidate’s research, teaching, and other scholarly activities. Applications and letters of reference should be sent to: Victoria General, firstname.lastname@example.org
