Summary
Our center is looking for a Research Coordinator (RC) I to conduct cutting-edge clinical trials to advance treatment options for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. The applicant will be responsible to coordinate day to day activities of research protocols which include screening, enrollment, and monitoring of research participants. He/she will ensure accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants. The RC I may correspond with patients throughout study. The position will support the Research Coordinator team covering our clinical trials and assisting the coordinators with tasks. The applicant may perform Venipuncture (blood draws), EKGs/ECG's and obtain vital signs on study participants. He/she may collect, process, ship, and maintain paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol. The Research Coordinator I may be required to receive on the job training of phlebotomy and EKGs/ECGs prior to performing on study participants.

Job Duties
- Tracks inventory and ordering of laboratory supplies (blood, collection tubes, etc.)
- Prepares and submits packages for shipping with FedEx and other carriers
- Picks up and delivers time-sensitive research materials (research paperwork, blood samples) to and from our affiliate hospitals in the Medical Center
- Assists with scheduling of research patients, such as imaging appointments and clinic visits
- Assists research coordinators with organizing and archiving research charts
- Assists with organization of chart transfer to storage facilities
- Interviews, screens and recruits patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study
- Collects patient information: processes documents and enters information into a database
- Maintains records and regulatory documents and records for research studies
- Schedules research participant for tests and procedures such as laboratory tests, x-rays, and other studies specific for the research protocol
- Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party
- Orders supplies and equipment
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Three years of relevant experience
