Summary

Dr. Xi Chen's lab studies the function and mechanism of Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) protein quality control machinery in cancer progression, metastasis and therapy resistance. Research will focus on specializing in ER stress, Unfolded Protein Response (UPR), biochemistry, transgenic and preclinical animal models, cancer biology and immunology.

The long-term goals is to elucidate the significance and mechanisms of ER proteostasis in cancer progression, metastasis and therapy resistance, and developing mechanism-based novel therapies to overcome therapy resistance and transform cancer to a manageable chronic disease.

Job Duties

  • Maintain an organized daily electronic laboratory notebook.
  • Present results in professional forums (seminars, meetings, and conferences) .
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Perform the experiments of the projects.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Required: MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • Experience Required: None Required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • MD or Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • Strong background and working knowledge in biochemistry, immunology and cancer biology.
