Summary
Dr. Jason Lee in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking a postdoctoral associate who will work on independent and collaborative projects, and who will contribute to the vibrant and team-oriented laboratory environment. Dr. Lee's research focuses on understanding how and why contact sites form between membrane-bound organelles and mRNA-protein condensates in health and disease.
Dr. Lee is seeking new postdoctoral associates with research experience in membrane-bound organelles, such as the endoplasmic reticulum, mRNA-protein condensates, live-cell microscopy, RNA-seq, neuroscience, cancer, and/or viral trafficking. The postdoctoral associate, under the mentoring of Dr. Lee, will be the person to perform all experiments to achieve the goal of their project(s).

Job Duties
- Responsible for setting lab standards by selecting, evaluating, conceptualizing and applying common and novel techniques used in biomedical research; such as cell culture, live-cell and immunofluorescence microscopy, molecular biology, RNA seq library preparation, etc.
- Designs, optimizes and executes experiments to answer questions related to research projects, and to publish experimental results and interpretations.
- Communicates their findings with other scientists at scientific meetings.
- Other duties include:
- Live-cell Microscopy
- Immunofluorescence
- Cell fractionation
- Programming skills
- RNA seq
- Immunoprecipitation, Immunoblots
- Cloning, CRISPR
- Cell culture, pipetting
- Scientific writing and communication.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD and/or MD in Cell biology, Molecular biology, Biochemistry/Biophysics.
