Summary

This position will contribute to the strategic efforts and lead implementation for pre-award grant activities for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Cancer Center. This includes planning, execution, and coordination and management of all grant related submissions for the Cancer Center. The main goal of this position is to provide grant submission support and coordinate all grant related activities to support the Cancer Center. The role will also take on special projects for pre-award activities as needed. The Sponsored Programs Analyst will also oversee the effort to secure funding for research by coordinating the pre-award grant application process for faculty applying for federal, state, and private foundation grant funding. May perform post-award grants administration and accounting functions on research grant accounts for faculty.

This position will be housed in the Pediatric Hem/Onc and supports Cancer Center Faculty. Primary coordination and management of all grant related submissions under the Center Director and the Pre-Award OUA and program infrastructure.

Job Duties

  • Consults with faculty regarding grant funding opportunities.
  • Prepares, or reviews and approves, budget and administrative sections of grant applications.
  • Ensures required approvals for submission of grant applications are in place.
  • Prepares reports on grant applications and rewards.
  • Processes grant awards, update databases, and forward to Grants and Contracts.
  • Follows federal, state, and Baylor College of Medicine policies, procedures, and guidelines that apply to grants and funding.
  • Prepares and submit subcontracts to other institutions.
  • Serves as information resource for faculty, students, and staff.
  • Prepares and interprets financial reports on faculty members receiving funding.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • One year of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification by the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA).
  • Candidates with experiencing in research activities, administrative duties, or prior grant submissions.
