The Scientific Director, Benlysta helps develop the medical strategy and executes MA tactics for a Key Asset. If so, this Director opportunity could be an ideal opportunity to explore.

As Senior Manager, Scientific Collaborations, you will identify the opportunities and establish the partnerships that are critical for the future of vaccine development. This is a high-impact and high-visibility role that works globally and cross-functionally. You will focus on evaluating emerging technologies, critically assessing collaborative opportunities from U.S. academic research institutions and minor focus on government agencies, helping advance GSK vaccine research and development priorities.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

Working as part of the Medical Matrix Team responsible for the medical impact of an asset, the Scientific Director Helps develop the medical strategy and executes MA tactics for a Key Asset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for helping to develop US medical strategy and perspective, ensuring medical strategy and plans are aligned with commercial asset strategy where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the cross-functional Medical Matrix Team to tailor / adapt global asset strategy for US specific customer needs and environment. Contribute to strategic oversight of US Tactical Plans aligned to strategy
  • Gain strategic alignment of asset positioning and evidence planning with the overall therapeutic portfolio and disease area strategies
  • Engage with external communities to advance scientific and medical understanding including the appropriate development and use of our medicines, the management of disease, and patient care. Coordinate with the US MSL and GMAL on joint global and US engagement of top US based EEs
  • Works to understand the evolving healthcare environment (provider/expert) and payer landscapes and help to translate that working knowledge into a plan
  • Reviews, synthesizes, and analyses clinical trial data and translates data into actionable plans at the product level
  • Develops product strategy for local Medical Advisory Board and Expert Panel meetings, Medical Congresses, Patient Advocacy, Medical Grants, and Medical Publications.
  • Supports Medical Information on FAQs and standard response letters. ​
  • Follows sound medical governance for all activities .

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • PhD in a Healthcare concentration or terminal degree (PharmD, MD, DO, DNP, NP, etc).
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience (medical affairs preferred) or strong, directly applicable, clinical background.
  • Must be able to clearly demonstrate a thorough understanding of US healthcare environment including all external stakeholders.
  • Requires the ability to assist in strategy setting and tactical planning/execution delivery to US medical affairs activities.
  • Must be able to demonstrate understanding of medical affairs accountabilities for evidence generation, external engagement and internal advice.
  • Must demonstrate disease area expertise and appropriate medical and/or clinical experience.
  • M ust demonstrate excellent communications skills .
