Stevens Institute of Technology seeks an entrepreneurial, ambitious, and visionary leader to serve as the next Director of the Stevens Institute for Artificial Intelligence. This is an unparalleled opportunity to leverage Stevens’ strengths in research and innovation to amplify its upward trajectory and make a significant impact in the limitless future of AI. SIAI is a young organization and remains in its startup phase, ripe with opportunity. The Director will shape and build SIAI as a signature area of excellence that attracts top students, faculty, and research partners and create a distinctive niche for SIAI within the vast national and international AI landscape. The result will be a flagship institute renowned for its multidisciplinary approach, cutting-edge research, and notable external collaborations.

 

Founded in 1870, Stevens Institute of Technology has been distinguished for its emphasis on technological innovation within its educational and research programs. Stevens comprises four schools: the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering and Science; the School of Business; the School of Systems and Enterprises; and the College of Arts and Letters. Across these schools, more than 8,200 undergraduate and graduate students collaborate with more than 300 faculty members in an interdisciplinary, student- centric, entrepreneurial environment to advance the frontiers of science and leverage technology to confront global challenges. Stevens is home to two national research centers of excellence and joint research programs focused on critical industries such as healthcare, energy, finance, defense and security, STEM education, and coastal sustainability.

 

During the past decade, Stevens has undergone a remarkable university-wide transformation that has resulted in a dramatic ascent in stature, enrollment growth, improved student academic profile and success, alumni engagement, philanthropic support, modernized and expanded IT and campus infrastructure, and a strengthened financial profile.
