Postdoc Fellow of Bioinformatics and Cancer Data Sciences

Postdoctoral researcher positions in Bioinformatics and Cancer Data Sciences are available in the laboratory of Peng Jiang, Ph.D. at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH). The overarching goal of the Jiang Lab is to understand the process of cancer immune evasion and therapy resistance through large-scale data integration and artificial intelligence approaches. The appointed candidates will develop statistical and machine learning frameworks to advance our ability to treat cancer patients. Meanwhile, as the Jiang Lab has expertise in both computational and wet-lab aspects, these bioinformatics postdoc positions will benefit substantially from experimental validation support within the same team to make novel scientific discoveries. Dr. Jiang will spend significant efforts on the candidates to ensure training success.

The Jiang Lab is part of the NCI Cancer Data Science Laboratory, an initiative dedicated to translational omics research and tightly integrated with massive national projects at NCI. NIH appointed Dr. Jiang as an Earl Stadtman Tenure-Track Investigator, a prestigious startup program at NIH. Dr. Jiang is a recipient of the K99 Pathway to Independence Award of the NCI and the Scholar-In-Training Award of the American Association of Cancer Research. The NIH Bethesda campus near Washington DC is a world-renowned medical research facility. Experience Required: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in computational sciences with proficiency in bioinformatics, statistics, and machine learning. Candidates with a background in cancer genomics, immunology, and imaging analysis will be preferentially considered.

Stipend: $62,600 + health insurance in the initial appointment year. Based on field of doctoral degree, an additional $10,000 annual specialty allowance is expected. Annual stipend increases are also expected.. The starting stipend will be higher for candidates with previous post-doctoral experience.
